Story: Meeting The Fox

scence2-heigher2-small

After saying goodbye to the whale, the little boy walked into the woods, it is dark around there at first, after a while, he heard the sound of crickets and wind blowing through. Only when some fireflies light appeared and brightened the surrounding a bit, the little boy noticed there was someone hiding behind the trees. Something was wagging, it looked like a tail. The little boy was curious and he keep walking near to it. The moonlight became brighter, it made the surrounding not so dark. When the boy came near, he said hello to this unknown creature who was wagging his little tail.

Boy: Hello! Who are you? Why are you here?

Fox: I am a fox. (The fox appears). I feel afraid and alone in this dark woods. I am waiting for someone to come and play with me. Can you be my friend?( When the fox first met the little prince, he was  shy and timid)

Boy: Yes, I would like to, but,  I don’t have much time. I am on the way looking for my flower. She is waiting for me.

Fox: Your flower?

Boy: Yes. We had some misunderstandings and I left her. Now I know I really miss her. Have you seen my flower? She has glowing petals and beautiful blue leaves.

Fox: I see. Sorry, I have no idea about your flower. But I know there are  thousands of flowers in this forest. They are also very beautiful.

Boy: But I only want my flower. She is important to me.

Fox: I see. It is the time you have spent on your flower that makes your flower so important.  She is unique to you.

Boy:Yes, but I did not notice this before and I left her alone. (The little boy feels sad)  The flying whale told me she is in the far north waiting for someone lonely.  She is weak, I need to collect enough lights to save her.

Fox: Can we be friends? I will be happy if we become friends. Because I will no longer be like the one million other foxes that you will see; I will be unique to you, like your flower.

Boy: Yes, my friend! My little fox!

Fox: I am so happy about that! I don’t have much, but I would give you my beloved shinning star with light. I hope it can help your flower.

Boy: Thank you so much, my dear little fox.

Fox: I like you, my friend. I would be sad you when you leave. I might going to cry.

Boy: My little fox, I don’t want to make you feel sad.

Fox: I understand. But it has done me good. Whenever I see the golden light from fireflies or stars, I would feel happy, because they remind me of you. But it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. You are my brave friend, my good friend.

(Note: The fox in “le petit prince” is depicted as a very wise creature. He knows the secret of life, which he gives to the little prince as a present)

Boy: Your words and the star you gave me give me strength to overcome difficulties in my  journey. You are unique to me among the one million other  foxes. I will never forget you. It is tough but we have to say goodbye.

Fox: Goodbye, my friend. I wish you safe on your journey. Good bye.

The little boy left the woods and head for the north looking for his flower.
